Social Media in the Classroom

    Should we use it? 

Personally, I think we are in a society where we almost have to use social media in the classroom. I think it is beneficial to use it because we can use it to communicate with parents and for interaction with our students. It's important that we are able to use social media in the appropriate way and with students who are mature enough to understand the limitations and expectations when using social media in the classroom. 

    Collaborative Tools:

I think some of the most beneficial tools to use online are google drive because it is a good way to keep students work organized. I also think using the tools to make graphic organizers will be beneficial. The students will be able to keep things more organized and legible for the teacher. Also, I would love to use an app to connect with the parents such as Classroom Dojo. This would be a great way to keep the parents updated with how the child is doing during class. 

    Final thoughts?

After taking this course I can see a tremendous amount of reasons why the media is important in schools. It's important to incorporate things students like and use every day to keep them engaged in the learned experience. There are also many benefits such as being more organized and keeping student work more legible.
